Weilangta: Forest recovers

Some old photos of the Weilangta (SE Tasmania) when it was first logged back in 1915. Since then it's grown back. And there are very few signs that it was ever logged. The B&W photos are from the Allport Museum, State Library of Tasmania.









And here's all that's left now...



Forestry is sustainable, you just need to think long-term, not butterfly life span.

Thanks to the Allport Museum, State Library of Tasmania. It's a great place and has a treasure trove of copyright attributable photos that show what Tasmania really was like.
